Am 27.02.2024 um 08:27 Uhr ist die Höhenforschungsrakete MAPHEUS-14 des Deutschen Zentrums für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) erfolgreich von der schwedischen Raketenbasis ESRANGE nahe Kiruna gestartet. Sie erreichte eine Höhe von 265 Kilometer und versetzte ihre wissenschaftliche Fracht sechseinhalb Minuten lang in Schwerelosigkeit. MAPHEUS-14 startete mit dem neuen Raketenmotor RED KITE, der von DLR und Bayern-Chemie gemeinsam entwickelt wurde und nun erfolgreich seinen Regelbetrieb aufgenommen hat.
