Against the backdrop of the Ukraine conflict, Germany decided to continue using and expanding the PATRIOT air defence system. . It is used to combat jet aircraft, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles.
In the years 1987-1996, Bayern-Chemie produced 2300 engines under licence for the PATRIOT system's PAC-2 missile, which contain around 500 kg of fuel. In 2023, the decision was made to set up an in-house production line in Germany. Bayern-Chemie was once again commissioned to manufacture the engine in Aschau am Inn.
