Due to the current threat situation, there are plans to create a European ground-based defence against hypersonic attack weapons. A rapid response capability due to short warning times is of crucial importance.
The European Union has therefore launched two EDF programmes with the aim of creating a joint interceptor. Bayern-Chemie is involved here as part of the Hydis² programme and is contributing its expertise, e.g. extensive, partly self-financed technology work.
Initial test bench trials have also been carried out and the expansion of the infrastructure is planned.
